Looking to take your Muay Thai journey beyond training? The British Muay Thai Coaching Association is a nationally recognised pathway designed to equip passionate practitioners with the skills to coach, guide, and inspire the next generation.

Our structured programme offers a progressive route from assisting beginner classes to leading competitive athletes, blending technical skills, coaching methods, and cultural knowledge.

Whether you're starting out or aiming to coach at a higher level, this pathway provides the foundation, mentorship, and certification to grow as a Muay Thai coach.

Intro to Muay Thai Coaching 

Course covers the basics of coaching and enables you to learn all the foundational skills you need to begin teaching.

level 1:
assistant coach

Learn to assist head coaches in effectively leading Muay Thai drills and understanding class structure for beginners.

Level 2:
qualified Coach

Learn How to advance your coaching abilities by focusing on class management and creating training plans

Level 3:
Advanced Coach

Learn How to advance your coaching abilities by focusing on class management and creating training plans

INTRODUCTION TO MUAY THAI COACHING 
31st May - 1st June 2025

 A foundational course for aspiring coaches to build confidence in assisting classes, learning core skills, and understanding coaching basics.

Cost: £150

Duration: 2 days

Age Requirement: Minimum 16 years old

Experience Requirement: Minimum 2 years of Muay Thai training, including sparring or interclub experience

Course Outcome: A practical introduction for aspiring coaches to build confidence in assisting classes and understanding coaching fundamentals.

Level 1: Assistant Coach

Develop your ability to support lead coaches in beginner and intermediate classes, gain hands-on coaching experience, and build classroom management skills.

  • Cost: £200

  • Duration: 3 days + required coaching hours

  • Age Requirement: Minimum 18 years old

  • Experience Requirement: Minimum 3 years of Muay Thai experience, including sparring or interclub-level competition

Course Outcome: Gain the skills and confidence to assist lead coaches, safely support class delivery, and complete supervised coaching hours.

Level 2: qualifed Coach

Step up to independently lead classes, design lesson plans, deliver technical coaching, and manage a safe, structured training environment.

  • Cost: £280

  • Duration: 4 days + required coaching hours

  • Age Requirement: Minimum 21 years old

  • Experience Requirement: Minimum 5 years of Muay Thai experience, including interclub or competition experience
     

Course Outcome: Become certified to independently coach beginner and intermediate classes, confidently structure lessons, and provide technical corrections.

Level 3: Advanced Coach

Coach competitive athletes, oversee fight camps, corner fighters at events, and mentor the next generation of coaches and athletes.

  • Cost: £500

  • Duration: 6–8 days + portfolio + coaching hours + assessment

  • Age Requirement: Minimum 26 years old

  • Experience Requirement: Minimum 10 years of Muay Thai experience, including coaching in competitive environments and working with fighters in fight camps

Course Outcome: Qualify to coach and corner competitive fighters, lead fight camps, manage coaching teams, and mentor developing coaches.
