Arjan Vinnie

Arjan Vinny, also known as Vincent S Deckon, is the 14th Khan (Arjan V) and the esteemed senior patron of Muay Thai Masters Academy. He began his martial arts journey at the age of fourteen at York House Boxing Club and continued to train under prominent figures, including his brother Stephen T French, a British, European, and World Champion in Shotokan Karate. This early exposure to different martial arts disciplines laid the foundation for his diverse skill set. Vinny went on to train with Alfie Lewis, a four-time World Kickboxing Champion, while earning a BA in Sociology and an MA in Ethnic and Race Relations at Liverpool University. In London, he trained under Chris McNeish at the Peacock Gym and World Champion Bill Judd at KO Gym.

His dedication to mastering martial arts led him to train annually in Italy under the renowned Arjan Marco Desaris at the International Muay Boran Academy, achieving the 12th Khan Advanced in Muay Boran. For over a decade, Vinny has travelled to Thailand yearly to train with Grand Masters Woody and Paosowhat, culminating in the honour of receiving his 14th Khan (Arjan) in Ayutthaya, Thailand, on March 17th, 2009 (Nai Khanom Tom Day).

Arjan V co-founded the Muay Thai Masters Academy (MTMA) with his committee of trusted instructors, including Kru LionHeart, Kru Star, and others. The academy is dedicated to mastering the skills and techniques of traditional Thai martial arts. As the head coach, Arjan V has developed an authentic grading syllabus and continually supports students and teachers in honing their martial arts skills.

Arjan V’s career is distinguished by his ability to train under and alongside world champions, which has profoundly influenced his training methods. As head coach and trainer at KO Gym and MTMA he produced two World Champions, one European and Commonwealth Champion, Ring Master Champions, and numerous British Champions.
